\"PascalePascale Ben\u00e9teau has always been touched by Art and it is only natural that one day Art should encounter her.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Self-taught painter and animal sculptor, Pascale Ben\u00e9teau works instinctively without any real artistic influences, without even being “in the flow”.\u00a0 Her paintings are uncluttered. Her sculptures soothe us, move us or amuse us. A mix of force and fragility \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

“I don’t think I “chose” animals as my main theme, nor wild animals either. It’s quite natural that I feel a kind of attraction, a complicity with animals. It’s an instinctive dialogue, so to speak. And it’s from this unformed dialogue that my works probably emerge.<\/em><\/p>\n

There’s never an initial plan. From the clay I model, the animal slowly takes shape. It reveals itself little by little. It extracts itself through my hands from its world to appear in ours. Each time, it’s a powerful moment, a suspense, an exceptional birth in the intimacy of my studio.<\/em><\/p>\n

Then comes the final step, which consists of transforming the terracotta work into a bronze with a delicate patina, capable of sublimating the animal.<\/em><\/p>\n

Nature is essential to our lives. It is generous when we listen to it. It is to pay homage to him that I dedicate my work to him.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Today she lives and works in Normandy<\/strong><\/p>\n
