Every week, we go to meet an actor of the tourist season.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, we discover the work of Pascale Ben\u00e9teau, artist painter and sculptor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pascale Ben\u00e9teau exposes her sculptures in bronze and her paintings in her small gallery, 62 rue Claude Monet in Giverny. Entering her universe allows traveling between continents and cultures.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Young , I played in V\u00e9theuil, the first village where Monet settled before coming to Giverny,” she says. \u201cAfterward, I spent half my life abroad where I was impregnated by all the diversity of cultures”<\/span><\/p>\n

Her research on colors, inks and shades regularly attracts the curious. The artist receives them with pleasure. “Those who come to this side of the street Claude Monet come out a little of the beaten track because they really want to discover the village and not only Monet and the museum. “<\/span><\/p>\n

A recognized work<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether painting or sculpture, Japan is certainly the country which mostly marked her art. Her oil paintings reflect the link between Impressionism and Japanese influence.<\/span><\/p>\n

There, she studied painting, discovering the Nihon-ga and Sumi-e.<\/span><\/p>\n

A little anecdote, this technique allowed her to create the logo chosen by the village of Giverny.<\/span><\/p>\n

The artist’s work is now recognized. Recently, she exhibited in the \u201cSalles Royales\u201d of the Church de La Madeleine in Paris.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLa Galerie.\u201d is opened every day during the season in Giverny.<\/span><\/p>\n

She creates in her studio just behind the gallery.<\/span><\/p>\n
