“Mister T.” the toucan with bronze wings

Art has always been an integral part of my outlook on life. At home, mum had a gallery a stone's throw from Giverny and for every exhibition there was a party bringing together artists and enthusiasts under our roof. At the "Mare aux Oiseauki, it could not be otherwise and it is no surprise that the birds find a special place there. Yesterday I had the joy of welcoming a new pensionary with bronze wings who came straight from my childhood since he made his way from Giverny to Brière. "Mister T." the Toucan is a sculpture of Pascale Benéteau. We met when I had the "Jardin des Plumes" where I always left a place for her to display a few pieces of her bestiary. Today Pascale as a dedication made this Toucan for me knowing very well that he is my favorite bird. From Giverny, via Brazil, to Brière, art knows no borders and touches all sensitive hearts.
